Premier League chief executive Tony Scholes has warned players who cross the line in taunting goal celebrations could face refereeing sanctions.

Two weeks ago, Everton striker Iliman N’Diaye was shown a yellow card by referee Tim Robinson after celebrating the winner from the penalty spot against Brighton by flapping his arms like a seagull. Last
week, Arsenal left-back Miles Lewis-Skelly mimicked opposition striker Erling Haaland after scoring in a 5-1 win over Manchester City but escaped punishment. Theo Walcott has been a
fan of Lewis-Skelly’s character, โปรโมชั่นพิเศษจาก UFABET สมัครตอนนี้ รับโบนัสทันที but other former players Gary Neville and Jamie Carragher have criticised him for being disrespectful to their opponents.
FA rules already stipulate on celebrations: “A player can celebrate when he scores, but the celebration must not be excessive. And it must not cause unnecessary time-wasting.
“Goal celebrations that are provocative, mocking or offensive may be cautioned by the referee.”
In midweek, Scholes, the chief executive of the Premier League, was asked by the media how the refereeing team should handle player celebrations.
“We have to get the balance right. We love to see goal celebrations. There are some that are funny and entertaining,” the show’s CEO began. “
At the same time, we have to draw the line and when that line is crossed to the point of taunting or criticising the opponent, we have to deal with it.”
