Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has revealed that Erling Haaland will need to be out for around 5-7 weeks.

The Norwegian striker was substituted in the 61st minute. After scoring for City to beat Bournemouth 2-1 and reach the FA Cup semi-finals.

Things looked relatively rosy for City after their FA Cup quarter-final victory against Bournemouth on Sunday. But Haaland’s injury in that match is the latest reminder. That things never seem to go well for them for long this season.

Haaland was seen returning from the Vitality Stadium on crutches and with a cast on his left ankle.

The club are not yet aware of how long the 24-year-old will be out. But Guardiola revealed that Haaland is likely to need around 5-7 weeks to recover.

“They told me the doctors think it’s 5-7 weeks, so hopefully he’ll be ready before the end of the season and in time for the Club World Cup,” Guardiola said. “

There are times when these things happen years and it’s been happening all season.”
